TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION
A transformative initiative by Life for Life and Jala University of California, the Technology in Action program was launched in January 2024 to provide young adults with a life-changing opportunity in software engineering. This program equips participants with essential skills, professional guidance, and guaranteed employment, creating a pathway to a sustainable career in the tech industry.
What we do?
The Technology in Action program is designed to break barriers and create opportunities for young adults by offering high-quality education, hands-on experience, and long-term job security. By combining technical training with language development, we ensure participants are fully prepared to thrive in an international work environment.
Education
This four-year online program provides participants with in-depth training in software engineering, covering key industry skills and best practices. To help them succeed, students receive mentorship and instruction in both English and Portuguese, allowing them to develop the technical and communication skills necessary for a global career.
As part of the program, every participant receives a laptop and full access to course materials—completely free of charge. The program is structured to ensure that students receive not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience that prepares them for the job market.
Development
Beyond education, Technology in Action is committed to fostering long-term professional growth. Upon graduation, participants are guaranteed employment for four years, earning a salary of approximately 12,000 BRL per month. This financial stability allows them to build a strong foundation for their future, gain industry experience, and contribute meaningfully to the workforce.
The impact is already being felt—25 young professionals have successfully completed the program and are now employed, proving that investing in education and opportunity can truly change lives.
